Wake boarding is a water sport in which the rider, standing on a wake board (a short board with foot bindings), is towed behind a motorboat across its wake and especially up off the crest for aerial maneuvers. The rider is usually towed by a rope, but can also be towed by cable systems and winches, and other motorized vehicles like speed boat, personal watercraft, cars, etc.
For water sport lovers, Tanjung Benoa – Nusa Dua is a good place to do wake boarding. Here, the wake boarder is pulled by a boat at a speed of approximately 25km/ hour. To keep afloat on the surface of water this speed is adjusted depending on the size of wake board, rider’s weight and the type of maneuver the wake board riders want to do.
Besides using a speedboat to pull the wake board, in Bali there is also cable wake boarding. However wake boarding with speed boat at Tanjung Benoa Beach is the popular one as it is located on a beautiful beach and it can be combined with many other types of water sport available there.
